"We will switch off the whole country"

MORE than 5000  employees at the national power utility, ZESA , have threatened to down tools and ultimately switch-off the whole country if their employer continues to refuse to adhere to the 2012 Collective Bargaining Agreement which set the minimum salary at US$275.00 a month.

Zesa, which has embarked on a nationwide switching off exercise of defaulting consumers over a ballooning debt of over $80 million has requested the Registrar of Labour to hold on the implementation of the registration of the agreement pending the finalization of the grading interpretation dispute between the workers and the company.
