THE recently convened indaba by the Employers’ Confederation of Zimbabwe (EMCOZ) has managed to spearhead innovative jobs creation.

The indaba ran under the theme “Innovative Employment Creation”.

The event placed  emphasis on the inclusion of persons with disabilities, showcasing the Government’s commitment to fostering equal economic opportunities for all citizens.

EMCOZ’s executive director Mrs Nester Mukwehwa highlighted the importance of this initiative.

“We are holding this business endeavour with the theme ‘Innovative Employment Creation’. Our aim is to create employment in Zimbabwe by addressing key drivers such as the ease of doing business,” she said.

“As we operationalise the Disability Policy launched by the President, we are ensuring that the participation of persons with disabilities is a priority in these discussions.”

The director of employment in the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Ms Maureen Dhliwayo, reinforced the Government’s commitment to creating a more inclusive labour market.

“The National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) has made development a cross-cutting issue, putting it at the center of every initiative,” she said.

“Our vision is not just to create jobs but to challenge conventional job structures, ensuring that all citizens have the opportunity to contribute their skills and talents,” she said.

The discussions at the indaba are aimed at reviewing labour law reforms and their impact on job creation, particularly for marginalised groups.
